Stained glass Cobra snake
This is what happens when I fall down a Cleopatra related rabbit hole. She's kind of iconic right, so who can really blame me? She was killed by an asp, and so then I had to find out what kind of snake an asp actually was. It's widely accepted that it was probably an Egyptian cobra, and so here they are in all their glory. Perfect for anyone that loves snakes, or anyone like me that thinks Cleopatra was a bit of a legend.
This piece includes a moss green coloured transparent glass, with a background of black streaks on clear, that gives a great smoky effect. Additional detail is added by hand with glass paint, and this piece also features extensive wirework to create the banded scales up the snakes belly.
Each piece of glass is individually cut, ground to shape, edged in copper foil and then soldered together. This is an original design. Measures approx 17x9cm and is hung on a detailed black chain.
This product contains lead solder - do not ingest and wash hands after handling.
